Dr. Alejandro Reyes is a highly respected Professor of Criminology at Northern Philippines College for Maritime Science and Technology, with over 22 years of experience in the field. His expertise encompasses criminal justice, forensic science, maritime security, and crime prevention strategies. Dr. Reyes is particularly known for his research on transnational maritime crime and the development of effective policies to combat piracy and trafficking in the Southeast Asian region.

Dr. Reyes obtained his Ph.D. in Criminology from the University of the Philippines, where his dissertation focused on the impact of organized crime on maritime trade routes. Over his distinguished career, he has authored more than 60 scholarly articles and conference papers. Some of his key publications include:

  • “Maritime Piracy in Southeast Asia: Trends and Countermeasures,” published in the Journal of Maritime Security and Safety (2019).
  • “Forensic Approaches to Investigating Maritime Crime,” presented at the Global Criminology Conference (2021).

He is also a member of the Asian Criminological Society (ACS) and the International Society of Criminology (ISC) .
